    Yangleshod cave

The retreat center is located in Pharping a village in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. The village is about 25 Km south of the city of Kathmandu at an altitude of 1600 meters. Yangleshod - a sacred place of Padmasmbhava, Guru Rinpoche - is located with a sacred Hindu shrine at the pools of Sheshnarayan just before the village of Pharping. There are many monasteries and retreat centers in the area. One of the temples is the "Self arising Tara" which is sacred to Hindus as well as Buddhists. There is also an old Vajrayogini temple and the Asura cave which is another meditation site of Guru Rinpoche. The area is also known for the Hindu shrine, Dakshinkali, which attracts many visitors from Nepal and India.
